Booker wins Senate seat for Democrats Oct 17th 2013, 05:14 Newark's Democratic mayor, Cory Booker, beat out Republican Steve Lonegan for a seat in the U.S. Senate in a special election in New Jersey on Wednesday. Booker will be the first black U.S. senator from the Garden State.
